Organic Link Building

I thought today I would give out a few tips on organic link building. Just some things to think about when you are looking for places to submit your site to or looking for links for your web site.

Directories
Free, paid, one time fees, etc. If you are going to pay for a link or submit your site at a free directory, it is probably wise to make sure the direcorty can be indexed. But also you should make sure the links are straight to your site.

Many directories track clicks on your links, so you have to ask yourself is that link really worth it? Will it be of any value to your site? One way to find out is look at some of the sites listed in the directory, does that directory show up in their backlinks?

Most directories are not going to send you a ton of traffic, if any. So usually submission is for link building purposes. Making sure your are getting a good link by asking yourself the above questions is just one step to saving you time in your future efforts. You will be able to find the best directories to submit to and ones not to bother with.
